Tim brought in a number of the artifact replicas for the colonial trunk for show and tell.
The status of the Peace Park Project was discussed and more testing is planned when the weather cooperates.
Because our funds were depleted by the C14 analysis and the colonial trunk items, we decided to continue having our annual Yard Sale Fundraiser. We will also need funding for the kiosk at the Peace Park.
Great Basin College Field School will start in May and we haven't had any applicants for the scholarship fund we have set up there.
The NAA conference will be March 26 - 28, 2010 in Las Vegas. Everyone mentioned that it was too far to drive so they will not be attending. It was brought up that the information and registration forms weren't available on the NAA website. Nevada Archaeological Association
Archaeological Awareness and Historic Preservation Month was discussed. There are a number of activities planned in Elko by various individuals. ECCNAA will hold their Archaeology Fair at the Museum and will send out flyers to the school kids. We will have our usual activites of flintknapping, the native plant foods display, the hunting tools display, dioramas, bead stringing, seed grinding, magnetic puzzles, and the Carlin Chinese Cemetery display. We are hoping to have a cordage making demonstration. Donna will put up a bulletin board at the Elko County Library.
Liability issues in organizational activities was discussed.
